About

Dana’s passion for aviation was brought on and encouraged by his father Rod Anders (aka Ramblin’ Rod, local children’s television host). Just like his father, Dana got his pilots license at an early age and now holds numerous licenses and certificates. In the summer months, Dana (and the Travel Air) can be found on the Central Oregon Coast, usually at the Siletz Bay State Airport (between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay). In the off season, he can be found working as a certified Airplane Mechanic and licensed Inspector.

In 1998, Dana and Rod purchased the 1929 Travel Air B4000 and started an exciting ground-up restoration with big dreams and plans of Barnstorming! After Rod’s untimely passing in 2002, Dana and his wife Tami, along with many friends, continued the exhaustive restoration to bring the Travel Air back to life. Another five years would pass before the summer of 2007, when a cough, a sputter and a roaring rumble that only a radial engine can make returned the Travel Air to the skies after almost 70 years!

Since then, Dana and Tami have been offering sightseeing tours in the Pacific NW for the last 17 years, with Siletz Bay State Airport being home base for over a decade. Although we lost our beloved Tami in 2023, we always love to hear the memories that people have of her when they stop back by. Some of our favorites are of people who just happened to come by after Dana and Tami spent a morning on the ocean before tours began- if you were lucky, you’d leave with new memories from your flight but also some fresh Dungeness Crab or Salmon that Tami wouldn’t let you refuse.

We can’t wait to meet you and hope you will stop by to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime flight in our 1929 Travel Air B4000- summer has truly begun when she rumbles to life and is flying over the Central Oregon Coastline!
